Get a free A/C Tune-up and start saving on your energy bill

With a free PNM A/C Tune-up, you can increase the energy efficiency of your refrigerated air conditioning unit which will help reduce your electric bill. During the appointment, we will perform a comprehensive analysis of your air conditioner's performance and tune it up so you can know your unit is working optimally and as efficiently as possible. You get to enjoy a cool and comfortable environment, plus you will see the energy savings right away that will benefit your wallet all summer long.

A/C Tune-Up Comprehensive Analysis

With the free A/C Tune-up comprehensive analysis, we will perform a thorough check of your refrigerated air conditioning unit to ensure it is working optimally. Here is what you can expect.

• Measure and adjust indoor airflow
• Inspect air filter(s) and clean or change if needed
• Inspect and perform a light cleaning of  condenser coils, evaporator coils, and blower
• Verify refrigerant level matches the manufacturer's specifications, using a digital refrigerant analyzer

During the tune-up, the technician may identify repairs that need attention to improve the performance and efficiency of your air conditioner. There may be additional costs associated with the recommended repairs.

The replacement filter must be provided by you, the customer. The technician may not clean the unit if cleaning would cause damage or if the unit is inaccessible - however, you will be advised if this is the case. Also, if the unit requires refrigerant to be added, the technician will provide you with an estimate for review and consideration.

A/C Qualifications and Eligibility

To be eligible for the free A/C Tune-up, customers must meet the following qualifications: 

• Must be a PNM residential electric account holder
• Live in a single-family home
• Have a functional refrigerated air conditioning or heat pump system that is five tons or less and at least one year old.
• Not have benefited from a PNM AC Tune-up in the past five years.

Service Exclusions

Evaporative Coolers, ductless heat pumps, ductless mini-split systems, room air conditioners, and portable air conditioners are not eligible for the PNM A/C Tune-up service.  For program questions or assistance, please call (855) 733-0575.

Energy Efficiency program appointments and rebates are on a first-come, first-served basis and are for a limited time only. Once the PNM A/C Tune-up program reaches its maximum capacity this year, the program will resume the next calendar year.
