Powering New Mexico Homes and Businesses Since 1917

At PNM, our roots in New Mexico go all the way back to the very first electric and gas operations in Albuquerque. Throughout more than a century serving New Mexico businesses and families, we've changed and grown, but our commitment has remained steadfast: Bring safe, reliable, clean power to the communities we serve.

Today we are the state's largest energy provider, powering to more than 525,000 residential and business customers across New Mexico every single day. We're proud of this legacy and committed to powering the state today, tomorrow and for generations to come.

Our vision, purpose and values

PNM strives to create enduring value for customers, communities and shareholders built on a foundation of Environmental, Social and Governance Principles. At the core of our business we are focused on our Vision, our Purpose and our Values.

Our Vision: Create a clean and bright energy future.

Our Purpose: Work together with our customers and community to serve their energy needs.

Our Values:

  • Safety for ourselves, our co-workers, our customers and our communities depends on every employee, every day.
  • Caring about the welfare of others is a company tradition that fosters a positive workplace, a focus on customers and dedicated customer service.
  • Integrity and honest communications guide our dealings and keep us accountable to our stakeholders and each other.

Powering Real Progress

We believe that PNM is more than an energy provider - we are a part of the local community. As such, we're committed to doing everything we can to reduce emissions and preserve our remarkable New Mexico environment. Here are just a few of the steps we¿ve taken together in recent years.

  • Clean Energy Jobs

From our solar centers, to harnessing wind energy to supporting our customers as they install their own solar energy systems, PNM is committed to creating the clean energy jobs of the future - today.

  • Clean Energy Sources

Combining solar, wind and geothermal generation, we produce enough clean energy to power more than 174,000 New Mexico homes every day.

  • 18 (and counting) solar centers produce enough energy to power 60,000 homes when the sun is shining.
  • $270 million investment in 1 million solar panels (and counting) helped land New Mexico in the top 10 states for solar installations.
  • Wind power supports the energy needs of an additional 73,000 homes.
  • Our wind, solar and geothermal power generation save 400 million gallons of water every year. The total reduced air emissions is equivalent to taking 201,000 cars off New Mexico¿s roads.

Promoting Energy Efficiency

Through the PNM Energy Efficiency program, we have reduced power consumption by the equivalent of the energy consumed by 378,000 homes per year. Since 2007, our energy efficiency programs have reduced enough electricity to conserve more than 876 million gallons of water and prevent more than 1.6 metric tons of carbon emissions.
