Santo Domingo Pueblo and PNM Dedicate Electric Vehicle Charging Station at Pueblo Gas Inc.

(Santa Domingo Pueblo, NM):  Santo Domingo Pueblo, in partnership with PNM, Ugo, and Nissan will be dedicating the first electric vehicle charging station along the I-25 corridor between Albuquerque and Santa Fe on Thursday , May 11th, at 10:00 AM. The media are invited to attend a ribbon cutting ceremony dedicating the new electric vehicle charging station. This new service becomes available to the traveling public immediately.

"Today's unveiling of the new electric vehicle charging station is our tribe's continued commitment in meeting the growing needs of our traveling public. In addition to our gift shop, café, and convenience stores, we can also now claim to be the first tribally owned full service station," said Santo Domingo Pueblo Governor Robert B. Coriz.

An electric vehicle charging station helps to ease the "range anxiety" associated with long distance travel for electric vehicle owners. Pueblo Gas Inc. is the perfect location between Albuquerque and Santa Fe to help ease any anxiety EV drivers may have on traveling between Albuquerque and Santa Fe.

"PNM Resources is dedicated to protecting our environment and we feel that by supporting new technologies such as electric vehicles; which lower the environmental impacts associated with transportation emissions, we are making a difference in our environment.  This project took many months to come to fruition but with any new technology related project it takes collaboration and hard work.  We would like to thank all parties involved because without collaboration by all this would not have been accomplished," said PNM Sr. Vice President of Public Policy Ron Darnell.
