How to Prepare for Your Smart Meter Installation
Your safety is our top priority. We are committed to completing every installation safely and efficiently. A few simple steps can help ensure a smooth and safe installation.
What You Can Do Ahead of Time
Clear Access to Your Meter
- Make sure the area around your electric meter is easy to access
- Remove any obstacles like locked gates, debris, or overgrown vegetation
Plan for a Brief Power Outage
- Check your bill to determine your service type. Commercial customers on rates 2A/2B may face a brief service interruption. If you are on a rate beginning with the number 3, or higher, you shouldn't experience any interruption to your service
- Consider saving work and resetting sensitive electronics ahead of time
