PNM's Day of Service Helps Communities Where They Need it Most

Albuquerque: More than 200 PNM employees across New Mexico will spend the afternoon of Friday, April 25 working in the communities where they live, work and play. Employees will help nonprofits and neighborhoods spruce up just in time for warmer weather.

"Each year employees spend thousands of their off hours volunteering in the communities, but this day gives us a chance to do it together and make a significant impact," said Pat Vincent-Collawn, PNM chairman, president and CEO. "Last year we received comments from a nonprofit that the work completed in one afternoon would have taken them more than a week."

Each year, PNM organizes a company-wide Day of Service. With projects in multiple areas, this event allows employees to increase their dedication to nonprofits in the community alongside each other

On April 25, PNM employees will gather at Albuquerque nonprofits such as PB&J Therapeutic Preschool, Habitat for Humanity, Roadrunner Food Bank, the N.M. Veteran's Memorial, open space areas, elementary schools, and community gardens. Employees in Belen, Los Lunas, Santa Fe, Silver City, Farmington and Deming will also complete projects. The work is focused on the needs of each community and ranges from creating gardens to helping nonprofit paint buildings.

Employees will work on the following Albuquerque projects: (Media is invited to the following projects):
