PNM awards over $61,000 to Santa Fe area nonprofit organizations

PNM Gives $500,000 in Grants to Nonprofits across New Mexico to Create Vibrant Communities

 

Santa Fe, N.M.:  The PNM Fund, a division of the PNM Resources Foundation, today recognized the recipients of the 2016 PNM Power Up Grants in Santa Fe. The foundation will award grants ranging from $9,500 to $19,500 to fund projects designed to build vibrant communities. 

The Santa Fe area nonprofit recipients are:

  • Reunity Resources received a grant of $18,770 to construct a hoop house on the grounds of the Santa Fe Community Farm.
  • Santa Fe Animal Shelter and Humane Society received a grant of $19,500 to create a community walking trail.
  • Santa Fe Botanical Garden received a grant of $19,500 to construct two sets of stairs for community use.
  • Santa Fe Watershed Association received a grant of $9,548 to install bicycle racks and benches along the Santa Fe River.

"We are proud to partner with these Santa Fe organizations as they build stronger communities and offer a helping hand to residents," said Diane Harrison Ogawa, executive director of the PNM Resources Foundation.  "The PNM Resources Foundation understands that empowering nonprofit organizations is critically important step in promoting innovation and sparking economic growth." 

PNM Resources Foundation has awarded more than $14 Million since 1983 to nonprofit organizations in the areas we serve across the state. Customer funds are not a part of the PNM Resources Foundation endowment.

These grants are part of the PNM Power Up Grant Program, which in 2016, will award $500,000 to 29 nonprofit organizations throughout New Mexico to fund projects that build vibrant communities. Nonprofits from across the state submitted more than 75 applications. Projects ranged from adding a portable greenhouse, to restoring a historic baseball park and building an outdoor classroom.
