Program Starts Again April 1

Albuquerque: The PNM Refrigerator Recycling Program is back beginning April 1, 2016. PNM has hired ARCA Recycling, Inc. to be the new third-party contractor who will manage the program.

The program will work basically the same way it did before. Details of the program include:

  • $50 for your old refrigerator or freezer.
  • Free pickup of your old refrigerator or freezer.
  • Old refrigerators and freezers must be working.
  • Old refrigerators and freezers must be between 10 and 27 cubic feet in size (no dorm-sized refrigerators).
  • Residential and commercial customers can recycle two refrigerators or freezers per year. Commercial customers may be able to recycle more with approval from PNM.

To participate in the program, visit PNM.com/fridge or call 1-877-838-1139.

The program was temporarily suspended after the third-party contractor who managed the program suddenly ceased operations in November 2015.
