    PNM Request for Proposals

New energy resources proposed to support PNM customers' growing electricity needs

PNM issued a supplemental request for proposals (RFP) for additional resources to serve projected electricity needs for the 2029 to 2032 timeframe. The request seeks electric generation and technologies that will continue to support our customers with the electricity they rely on in their day-to-day lives.

"Our resource plan balances the needs of our customers, community and environment by focusing on low-cost options and technologies that advance New Mexico's carbon-free electricity goals," said Laurie Williams, vice president of integrated planning for PNM.

The RFP seeks at least 50 to 250 megawatts of new, accredited capacity to come online between 2029 and 2032 to serve customers in New Mexico. The proposed resources should reliably meet PNM's forecasted peak load requirements and continue progress toward the zero-carbon requirements of New Mexico's Energy Transition Act.

Any resource additions selected through this RFP will be subject to approval by the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission.
