PNM Energy Efficiency Programs for Students
When it comes to educating our New Mexico youth about energy efficiency, PNM is all about it! We offer three energy efficiency student programs that schools and teachers can participate in to help teach their students about the importance of protecting the environment, how energy can be used wisely, the evolution of driving electric vehicles, and how they can become part of the solution. These programs offer a fun and interactive experience for students in 5th grade and high school.
PNM Think Energy! Home Works Program for 5th Grade Students
The PNM Home Works program is a 45 to 60-minute interactive, hands-on presentation for 5th grade students and teachers at participating schools within the PNM service territory. The presentation is conducted by professional educators from the National Energy Foundation and provides teachers and students with an understanding of how to be an energy efficiency expert at home.
Each student receives an energy efficiency Take Action! Kit that includes easy to install items that have a huge impact on energy use at home. Teachers also receive supplemental instructional materials and optional lessons, all correlated to New Mexico state learning standards, that can be used in addition to the presentation.
Teachers can earn up to a $100 classroom mini-grant when students submit their Home Energy Worksheets online.

PNM Energy Innovation Program for High School Students
The PNM Energy Innovation program offers high school students and teachers a 45 to 60-minute interactive, hands-on presentation that will stimulate their minds and provide them with important information that puts them on the path to become more energy efficient in their homes and in their everyday lives. The presentation is conducted by professional educators from the National Energy Foundation.
Each high school student receives an energy efficiency Innovation Kit that includes easy to install items that have a huge impact on energy use at home. Teachers, you will receive supplemental instructional materials and optional lessons, all correlated to New Mexico state learning standards, that can be used in addition to the presentation.
Teachers can earn up to a $150 classroom mini-grant when students submit their Home Energy Worksheets online.

PNM rEV Program for High School Students
The PNM rEV program is an electrifying experience for high school students and a huge opportunity to learn about electric vehicles (EVs). Students are introduced to the benefits and future of EVs and will learn the valuable concepts from the program curriculum that will be provided to teachers. The program is conducted by professional educators from the National Energy Foundation. The future is electric - engage students in the rEV Challenge contest, earn incentives for your students and your classroom, play games, and enjoy watching students thrive as they learn about driving electric vehicles.
