• It's good for you because it helps you save money – and not just when you get a rebate or a discount. You will continue to save month after month, in the form of lower utility bills.

Did you know that you can save up to $100 annually on your electric bill by not replacing an extra refrigerator that you have recycled, or $41 annually, simply by replacing traditional incandescent light bulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs (CFLs)?

• It's good for all PNM customers. The PNM Energy Efficiency Program pays you to purchase products and services that help reduce total energy use. Over the long run, using less energy will:
  • Reduce emissions at coal-burning power plants and help the environment.
  • Help keep our electric rates lower, longer, by delaying the need to build expensive new power plants.
  • Help reduce energy use on "peak demand days", often the hottest days of the year, when electricity is the most expensive to purchase and produce.
