PNM-Silver Horizons Senior Assistance Fair

Albuquerque: PNM and Silver Horizons will sponsor a multi-agency assistance fair for senior citizens on Thursday, Jan. 12, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Alamosa Health and Social Services Center, 6900 Gonzales Road in Albuquerque.

Income-eligible seniors can apply for up to $140 in utility bill assistance from the PNM Good Neighbor Fund. Seniors aged 60 and up can also apply for Silver Horizons gas and electric bill assistance. Up to $6,500 of free weatherization is also available for income eligible households through Central New Mexico Housing.

Free blood pressure and glucose screenings will be offered. A free bag of groceries will be given away to the first 50 participants to apply for the Good Neighbor Fund or Silver Horizons utility bill assistance. Drawings will be held to give away ten $25 Walmart gift cards.

To sign up for the PNM Good Neighbor Fund, please bring with you:

  • Proof of income for everyone in the home.
  • ID’s for all adults living in the home, birth certificates or shot records for all children living in the home.
  • Your current electric bill that has a past due portion on the bill or a disconnect notice.
  • Proof of LIHEAP application, if you have it.
  • Proof of financial or medical hardship if you exceed income guidelines.
