PNM Crews Removing Dead Trees Near Sandia Crest Power Line
Albuquerque: Hikers on the east side of Sandia Mountain may hear the sound of chainsaws this summer as PNM vegetation crews clear away dead trees near a power line that runs from Sandia Crest toward North Highway 14.
PNM is performing the work to protect against forest fires that could be triggered by a falling tree making contact with the power line. Hikers who come across the PNM crews cutting the trees should exercise caution and follow safety instructions provided by the crews.
