January Brings Continued Lower Natural Gas Prices For PNM Customers

Albuquerque: PNM customers will pay about 62 cents per therm this January for natural gas, roughly 19 percent less than the price last year at this time.

The average home heating bill this month is estimated to be around $112, based on a ten-year average. January’s per-therm natural gas price represents a 4.5 percent increase over the December 2008 price of 59 cents. The per-therm cost of gas last January was 76.65 cents.

By law, PNM passes the cost of natural gas on to customers with no additional mark-up.
