PNM, Salvation Army Host Winter Heating Season Assistance Event Dec. 16
Albuquerque: PNM and the Salvation Army will host a Winter Heating Season Assistance Day on Tuesday, December 16, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Salvation Army Corps and Community Center, 4301 Bryn Mawr Drive, NE, in Albuquerque.
“We created this event to make it easy for customers to get help with utility bills if they are facing tough economic challenges, perhaps for the first time,” said PNM Marketing and Customer Service Vice President Sue Fullen.
Participants will have the opportunity to sign up for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and the PNM Good Neighbor Fund, which help qualifying households with winter utility bills through a one-time grant, and for Food Stamps.
Please bring:
- A copy of your latest PNM Bill
- Proof of monthly household income for the last 30 days (pay stubs, assistance letter)
- Social Security card
- A picture ID
A free hot lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Youth Development, Inc. will provide Head Start enrollment information. In partnership with John Brooks Supermarket, PNM will provide a $25 John Brooks Supermarket grocery certificate to the first 240 qualifying participants.
Eligibility for LIHEAP and the PNM Good Neighbor Fund are determined by a number of factors, including household income, household size, and household members' ages or disabilities. If a family member is in the hospital or recently lost a job, a household may qualify for the PNM Good Neighbor Fund even if they have been turned down by LIHEAP. For more information on LIHEAP and Good Neighbor Fund qualifications, visit PNM.com.
To find the Salvation Army, take the Montgomery Avenue exit off Interstate 25, turn right on Pan American and then go left on Bryn Mawr Avenue.
PNM customers can get information about where to turn for help in their community by calling 1-888-DIAL PNM (888-342-5766).
