PNM Fund Launches New Program to Help Nonprofit
Organizations Become More Energy Efficient
Albuquerque: The nonprofit PNM Fund, a division of the PNM Resources Foundation, will award $250,000 to 100 nonprofits throughout the state to provide tools for increased energy efficiency and lower electric bills.
The PNM Fund is now accepting applications for Reduce Your Use Grants from nonprofit organizations within PNM’s service territory. One hundred organizations will receive $2,500 to implement energy savings measures designed to decrease their electric bill.
“We encourage nonprofits throughout the state to apply. Helping nonprofits reduce their energy consumption allows them to focus more of their money on their mission,” said Diane Harrison Ogawa, executive director, PNM Resources Foundation.
Since its inception in 1983, the PNM Resources Foundation has invested more than $5 million to help create or maintain essential community programs. This is the first grant program of its kind that directly funds energy efficiency measures for nonprofits and tracks the resulting energy efficiency into the future.
Reduce Your Use Grant applications are available online at www.pnm.com/foundation/reduce_use.htm. The application process is simple; candidates must be 501 (c) 3 organizations, operate within PNM’s service territory, submit an outline of how they will utilize the $2,500 and present a method to communicate the importance of energy efficiency to their clients and service partners.
The application deadline is August 1.
