PNM Joins the Farmington Fire Department
For Fire Prevention Week

Farmington: PNM San Juan Generating Station’s emergency response team, employee volunteers and the Farmington Fire Department will host Fire Prevention Week at the Farmington Civic Center on Tuesday, April 22 through Thursday, April 24.

More than 7,000 San Juan County children are expected to attend an entertaining but educational presentation covering fire prevention and creating a family escape plan to get quickly and safely out of a burning house.

According to the U.S. Fire Administration, fire kills 3,200 and injures more than 16,000 people each year in the U.S. Direct property losses due to fire reach almost $11 billion a year. Most of these deaths and losses can be prevented.

PNM’s emergency response team is trained in fire rescue and its employees support New Mexico communities through volunteerism and corporate giving throughout the year.

community crew, and the Farmington Fire Department present fire safety information and summer safety for young people

When: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, April 22-24, 2008, 8:45 a.m., 9:45 a.m., and 12:30 p.m.
