PNM Classroom Innovation Grants Reward Creativity in the Classroom Albuquerque: This year the PNM Fund will award more than $200,000 in Classroom Innovation Grants to New Mexico teachers to help them bring more creative teaching ideas to life. PNM is accepting applications between now and March 5, 2008. Grants range from $500 to $3,000 and are available to full-time educators teaching kindergarten through 12th-grade in a New Mexico public or private school. Pre-kindergarten teachers with an early childhood license also are eligible to apply. Applications must be submitted online at PNM.com/innovation by 5 p.m. March 5. Applications should include a project description, teaching objectives, a budget and a method for evaluating the success of the proposed project. “We encourage teachers in New Mexico to apply for PNM Classroom Innovation Grants so they can turn their innovative teaching ideas into classroom magic,” said Diane Harrison Ogawa, executive director of the PNM Resources Foundation. The PNM Fund is a division of the PNM Resources Foundation, a nonprofit established to improve the quality of life in New Mexico and Texas. The PNM Resources Foundation is a separate nonprofit tax-exempt corporation and was originally endowed by a gift from earnings by shareholders of PNM Resources.
