PNM Customers See Lower January Natural Gas Prices

Albuquerque: This January PNM customers will pay 3.3 percent less per therm for natural gas than they did last year, thanks to continued strong storage levels and a mild hurricane season in the Gulf of Mexico.

New Mexico law provides protection from utility shut-off during the winter for households that meet certain income requirements.  The New Mexico Human Services Department (HSD) determines who qualifies for this protection and provides financial assistance to help with heating bills.

Financial help is also available from the Salvation Army through the PNM Good Neighbor Fund. Weatherization assistance to lower utility bills is available for income-qualified households as well.

For more information about these programs and where to turn in your community, call PNM at 1-888-DIAL PNM (888-342-5766).
