Thirty-four programs across the state received grants in 2006. Funded programs ranged from a land restoration project to keep sediment out of the Santa Fe River to a mentoring program for children in the Navajo communities of Nenahnazad, Shiprock, Ojo Amarillo and Newcomb. Agencies that provide assistance statewide such as the Ronald McDonald House in Albuquerque, the Santa Fe-based New Mexico Coalition for Literacy and Think New Mexico also received grants. “The PNM Partnership Grants are an important way that we can build a better New Mexico,” said Ogawa.
