PNM Creates E-mail Address
for Customers to Report Outages

Albuquerque: PNM has created a temporary e-mail address to help customers report electric outages experienced this weekend due to severe winter weather.

Ordinarily customers are able to report power outages by calling PNM Customer Service, however technical difficulties have extended waiting times for many customers. As an alternative to calling, customers with wireless e-mail capability, or their friends and family who do have power, may e-mail PNM at PNMCustomerService@PNM.com (temporary customer service e-mail address discontinued) to report an outage. Customers are asked to include their name, phone number, address and PNM account number if available. A brief description of the problem they are reporting will also be helpful.

PNM crews are have been out in force since Friday evening and will continue working until all customers have been restored. However, due to dangerous travel conditions and the large number of separate power outages, many customers may be without power for extended periods of time.

As of 4 p.m. Saturday approximately 4,100 customers were without power, mostly in Albuquerque and Valencia County.

PNM urges customers to call 911 if they feel they are in a life-threatening situation. PNM also reminds customers not to attempt heating their homes with outdoor appliances such as gas grills as this poses a serious fire danger and could lead to carbon monoxide poisoning. If you see a downed power line stay clear and report it to PNM as soon as possible by calling 246-5700 in Albuquerque or (800)-687-7854 outside of Albuquerque, or by e-mailing PNMCustomerService@PNM.com (temporary customer service e-mail address discontinued).

PNM is a subsidiary of PNM Resources, an energy holding company based in Albuquerque, N.M. PNM provides electric utility service to 424,000 customers and natural gas service to 478,000 customers in New Mexico. The company also sells power on the wholesale market in the West. PNM Resources stock is traded primarily on the NYSE under the symbol PNM. For more information, see the company's Web site at PNM.com.
