Grants Couple Gives One Gift
That Helps in Two Ways

Albuquerque: A Grants, New Mexico couple’s purchase of 37 PNM Puppet Pals will help keep low-income families warm this winter and bring smiles to children treated at UNM Carrie Tingley Hospital in Albuquerque.

"When we learned about the PNM puppets, we thought, ‘Wow, the kids will really get a kick out of this.’ We are tickled to be able to help,” said Dawn Chapman, who with her husband, Craig, owns Air Care Heating and Cooling, Inc. in Grants. They are donating the puppets to the hospital.

“The PNM Puppet Pals will be given to children who receive specialized medical care and rehabilitation services at UNM Carrie Tingley Hospital. This thoughtful donation is sure to bring happiness and entertainment to our patients. We are very grateful for Dawn and Craig Chapman’s kindness and generosity,” Frederick C. Sherman, M.D., Medical Director of UNM Carrie Tingley Hospital.

The PNM Puppet Pals are high quality, non-allergic and machine-washable hand puppets that come in four versions: Grrr Tiger, Manny Moose, Coco Bear and Amber the Golden Retriever. Each puppet purchased results in an approximately $10 donation to the PNM Good Neighbor Fund, which helps low-income families and senior citizens with their winter heating bills. KOAT joined hands with PNM to help promote the puppets.

Last year, PNM employees, customers and shareholders donated more than $700,000 to the fund and helped 5,100 families. To learn more about the Puppet Pals or to make a purchase, visit PNM.com. The puppets cost $14.95 plus tax and shipping, and will be available through January.
