PNM Fund Accepting Partnership Grant Applications from New Mexico Nonprofits

Top 10 tips for writing a successful grant application
  1. Use the current application materials.
  2. Follow instructions carefully.
  3. Prepare and attach a separate budget file.
  4. Be able explain why your idea will make a difference.
  5. Avoid acronyms or terms that may not be understood by the general public.
  6. Respect the deadline; don’t wait until the last minute.
  7. Check spelling and grammar carefully.
  8. Stay within funding limits.
  9. Less is more. State your idea, getting to the point quickly.
  10. If your grant idea is not accepted, ask for feedback and try again.

Albuquerque: The PNM Fund is now accepting applications for PNM Partnership Grants from nonprofits that improve the quality of life in New Mexico by focusing on education, environmental awareness and economic vitality. Applications must be submitted online by 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2006.

“The PNM Fund is proud to offer grants for programs that bring valuable resources to those in New Mexico who need them the most, helping to build a stronger and brighter future for our state," said Diane Harrison Ogawa, PNM Resources Foundation executive director.

Any 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides direct services to communities served by PNM is eligible to apply.

Visit PNM.com/partner to learn more about the types of programs that qualify, who can apply, funding guidelines and how to apply for a PNM Partnership Grant. Only one application per nonprofit is accepted each year. The minimum grant considered by the PNM Fund is $5,000.
