Everyone Knows a Teacher; Encourage Your Favorite To Apply

Albuquerque: Deadlines are fast approaching for two teacher grants programs offered by the PNM Fund. The PNM Fund will award $250,000 to teachers this spring through PNM Classroom Innovation Grants and PNM Earth Study Grants.

  • The PNM Earth Study Grant deadline is Feb. 5. The PNM Fund will distribute $50,000 to teachers across the state to implement projects that encourage environmental awareness during the 2006-07 school year.
  • The PNM Fund also is accepting PNM Classroom Innovation Grant applications, which are due March 5. The PNM Fund will award $200,000 to teachers across the state to who have exciting and creative ideas for their classrooms. Teachers may apply for grants ranging from $500 to $3,000.

Full-time New Mexico K-12 teachers and pre-K teachers with an early childhood license are eligible to apply.

“We encourage all teachers to apply for PNM Earth Study and PNM Classroom Innovation Grants so they can obtain the necessary resources to turn their teaching ideas into classroom magic,” said Diane Harrison Ogawa, executive director of the PNM Resources Foundation.

Applications must be submitted online no later than 5 p.m. on the deadline dates listed above.
