Albuquerque: The PNM Fund is now accepting applications for PNM Classroom Innovation Grants and PNM Earth Study Grants to be implemented during the 2005-06 school year. The PNM Fund will award $250,000 this year to teachers across New Mexico. Full-time New Mexico K-12 teachers and pre-K teachers with an early childhood license are eligible to apply. "We encourage teachers to apply for both Classroom Innovation and Earth Study Grants to obtain the necessary resources to inspire creative learning and an appreciation for the environment in their classrooms," said Diane Harrison Ogawa, executive director of the PNM Resources Foundation.
Teachers are encouraged to visit PNM.com/fund to learn about what’s funded; read examples of successful grants; view videos of grants in action; and apply for PNM Classroom Innovation and PNM Earth Study Grants. Applications must be submitted online by 5 p.m. on the deadlines listed above. The PNM Fund is a division of the PNM Resources Foundation, a nonprofit established in 1983 to improve the quality of life in New Mexico. The PNM Resources Foundation is a separate nonprofit tax-exempt corporation and was originally endowed by a gift from earnings by shareholders of PNM. No customer funds are part of the endowment.
