PNM Offers 50 Teacher Grants To Explore Water Issues
Albuquerque: PNM will award 50 PNM Earth Study Grants
this fall to New Mexico teachers who will incorporate environmental
issues focusing on water in their curriculums. These $1,000
grants will give teachers additional resources to explore
environment topics in a creative way.
"PNM Earth Study Grants support our teachers statewide
by encouraging them to explore current environmental issues
in the classroom," said Diane Harrison Ogawa, director
of PNM Community Relations.
PNM encourages teachers from all subject areas to apply for
a PNM Earth Study Grant. This way, students will discover
the culture, science and history surrounding environmental
topics and the future of our state, Ogawa said. PNM will share
these ideas and best practices with teachers across the state.
The one-page PNM Earth Study Grant applications are due Nov.
14, 2003. Recipients will be announced by Dec. 19, 2003.
