PNM Donates Computers and Printer to Boys
and Girls Club
Roswell: PNM, Public Service Company of New Mexico,
today donated three reconditioned computers to the Boys and
Girls Club of Roswell to replace machines that were recently
destroyed. The company also donated a high-speed printer.
"The Boys and Girls Club performs a great service in
our community," said Joseph Brady, PNM community representative.
"They needed these computers to help our children reach
their highest levels of academic development so they will
be prepared to become tomorrow's leaders. PNM is grateful
for the opportunity to assist with this program."
The personal computers will be used by about 30 children
every day, said Camilo Romero, executive director of the Boys
and Girls Club. "We have some educational software that
helps kids realize their learning potential. We will also
use the computers during our 'Power Hour,' which is devoted
to homework and improving typing skills."
PNM provides gas service to 16,500 customers in the Roswell
area. The investor-owned utility started in 1917 and has a
long history of being a good corporate citizen, responding
to community needs throughout the state.
