Environmental Stewardship
Environmental protection is integral to business decisions, planning and development.
We strive to always provide customers with cleaner energy choices, use natural resources more efficiently, reduce or eliminate waste in all of our operations, and preserve and protect wildlife and habitat in our actions.

(1) Net generation represents total generation minus the energy used to generate, transmit and distribute to the end-use customer. Figure includes New Mexico Wind Energy Center generation for customer wholesale markets.
(2) All hazardous waste is disposed in compliance with local, state and federal regulations. In 2006, we expanded our recycling under the Environmental Protection Agency's Universal Waste Rule, thereby reducing the total hazardous wastes generated. Universal waste is included in all figures. Includes PNM owned and operated facilities.
(3) Utility owned solar PV
(4) Customer-owned Small and Large Photovoltaic Renewable Energy Certificate Purchase Program. (Numbers are cumulative).
Figures for Optim Energy are included in Net Generation, Air Emissions, Water and Fly Ash.
