Environmental sustainability
PNM Resources is committed to protecting, preserving and
wisely using natural resources as we provide safe and reliable
energy. It is the responsibility of today's generation to
preserve and protect clean air, water and open space for
future generations to use and enjoy. As a natural resources-based
company, we will do our part in meeting this ethical responsibility
by being an exemplary steward of the environment.
PNM Resources will practice sustainable business development
whereby a business can grow and thrive while at the same
time protecting, preserving and wisely using natural resources.
We will balance the economic, environmental and social impacts
of all our actions, now and in the future. We will integrate
sustainability considerations into business decisions and
performance measurements.
PNM Resources will view products and services from a full
life-cycle perspective in terms of their impact on the environment.
We will use natural resources and energy efficiently to
reduce or eliminate waste. And we will minimize and responsibly
manage the environmental impacts and risks of operations.
We will make environmental protection and stewardship integral
to facility design, construction, operation and maintenance,
as well as business planning and employee and management
training. We will set challenging goals and establish performance
measures and we will encourage our business colleagues upstream
and downstream of our direct operations to conduct their
affairs in a similar fashion.
