Customer Solar PV Program

PNM is encouraging customers to invest in solar energy by offering a performance-based solar PV program.

Customers who own or plan to purchase a solar photovoltaic system rated 10 kilowatts or less may apply to participate in the program beginning in March 2006.

The production-based incentive program would increase the value of the customer's photovoltaic system by paying the customer for the environmental attributes of the solar energy generated – known as a renewable energy certificates.

For PNM's program, one renewable energy certificate equals 1 kilowatt-hour. PNM will pay participants 13 cents per kilowatt-hour for the environmental attributes of the total energy produced.
