New customer solar incentive program

• PNM is offering a new customer solar energy incentive program.
  • Effective Aug. 31, 2010, as a result of Final Order Case No. 10-00037-UT
  • A modified version of our renewable energy plan was approved by N.M. Public Regulation Commission.
• Systems up to 1 Megawatt AC installed, qualify.
• Now includes solar thermal electric technologies.
• Net metering incentive is still offered.
• REC Purchase incentive is still offered, however payment levels will change.

Additional details about the new program will be provided in the near future.

If you wish to participate in the new program, complete an application (see links below). PNM will begin processing applications upon approval of the new program tariff.

PNM offers two incentives that reduce your electric bill:

• PNM REC Purchase Program: Because you’re adding renewable-fueled power to the PNM system, and that helps us meet our environmental goals, we credit your account for energy that your facility generates and consumes on site within a given billing period.

• Net metering: When your PV system produces more electricity in a given billing period than your facility uses, PNM will credit your account for the excess.
  • Excess energy is paid at our “avoided cost” rate, which is what it would have cost PNM to produce it.

  If your facility uses more energy than your PV system produces, you will be charged at your usual business rate for the energy PNM provided.

• PNM will send you a check whenever a balance of $200 or more accumulates in your account.

In addition to the PNM incentives, as of Jan. 1, 2009, the federal government is offering a 30% tax credit toward the cost of your system.
