PNM Small PV Program
The solar energy incentive program for small photovoltaic systems
If you're a PNM customer interested in adding solar energy to your home or business, now is a great time to do it.
The PNM Small PV Program is for solar photovoltaic (PV) systems 10 kW or less.
Not only does PNM offer two incentives that reduce your energy bill, but as of Jan. 1, 2009, the federal government offers a tax credit for 30% of the cost of your system. If you installed in 2008, you can combine New Mexico and federal incentives to total as much as 30%.
In brief, the PNM incentives work like this:
- PNM Net Metering: When your solar panels produce more electricity than you use in a given month, PNM credits that energy toward your future bills.
- PNM REC Purchase: Because you’re adding renewable-fueled power to the PNM system, we pay you 13 cents per kilowatt-hour for helping us meet our environmental goals. This is in addition to the credit you receive under the Net Metering incentive.
