Heating Season Shut-Off Protection

If you qualify for low-income help, you also may qualify for the New Mexico heating season moratorium.

What it means

Certain customers' electricity cannot be turned off from November 15, 2010 to March 15, 2011.

Currently behind on your bill?

If you are behind on your bill prior to November 15, 2010, you must contact us to set up a payment plan for that money owed.

If you don't make arrangements for that pre-November 15 money owed, your service still can be shut off.

If you qualify

  • You still must pay all charges for energy you used during the heating season.
  • You must keep making planned payments during heating season.
  • The more you pay during the heating season, the less you will owe when the shut-off limit expires on March 15, 2011.
