Contact PNM

What you can do to stay safe during a power outage:

  • Call PNM to let us know your power is out.
    • (888) 342-5766 or (888) DIAL-PNM
    • TDD-TTY: (800) 640-9382
    • 24 x 7 x 365
  • Do not call 911 unless you have an emergency.
Electrical equipment
  • Turn off any appliances (like stoves) and unplug electrical equipment that you were using when the power went out.
  • Turn off all lights, except one, so you'll know when power has been restored.
  • Unplug sensitive electronics, such as computers and flat-screened TVs.
Food
  • Keep refrigerator or freezer doors closed as much as possible.
    • Food in the refrigerator will keep cold for about four hours if door is kept closed.
    • A full freezer will keep food frozen for approximately 48 hours (24 hours if it is half full) if the door is kept closed.
  • Buy dry or block ice to keep the refrigerator cold as possible if the power is going to be out for more than four hours.
Fallen power lines

Fallen power lines are dangerous, and can be deadly if you come in contact with one:

  • If you come across a fallen power line, do not touch the line. Do not go near it or anything that is touching it, such as a tree branch, fence or vehicle.
    • Call PNM immediately: (888) 342-5766 or (888) DIAL-PNM.
  • Always assume electricity is running through it, whether you see sparks or not.
