Safety: Breakers & Fuse Boxes
- Make sure you and other family members know where the
breaker or fuse box is located and how to shut it off.
- Never replace an existing fuse with a larger one —
this allows excessive current to flow.
- Larger fuses can overload outlets and wiring and start
a fire.
- If all or nearly all fuses are 30-amp, there is a good
chance that some are rated too high for the circuit. Replace
them as soon as possible with the right size. If in doubt,
have a licensed electrician label the fuse sizes.
