Budget Billing allows you to pay the same amount on your
PNM bill each month, removing the month-to-month fluctuations
caused by changing weather, changing usage and other factors.
How it works
- Your Budget Billing amount is based on two primary factors:
- Your energy use for the last year.
- Estimated energy costs for the upcoming year.
- You still will pay for all of the energy you use, but
the payment totals will be spread throughout the year.
- Your account must be current to begin Budget Billing.
- No payment extensions / deferments can be made while
on Budget Billing.
- Budget Billing payments are evaluated twice a year and may
go up or down based on your usage and updated estimates
of energy costs.
- If you choose to end your Budget Billing participation,
any amount you still owe will be due on your next bill and
any amount we owe to you will be deducted from your next
bill.
- Late payments may lead to an account being dropped from
Budget Billing.
Who's eligible
- PNM electric customers are eligible.
- Your Budget Billing amount will be applied to your electric charges.
- You must be current on your PNM bills and it's best if
you have been at the service location for at least seven months
so we can accurately calculate your projected usage.
