1. What are the advantages of PNM E-bill?
  • No more paper bill means less clutter in your house. You will still be able to access copies of your PNM bill, going back 12 months (or more in some cases), online through “View My Bill” at PNM.com. You no longer need to discard or file paper bills. No paper bill also means you will save trees and landfill waste.
  • Free Visa® credit and debit card payments. Trying to accumulate enough flier miles or rewards points for a special vacation or other prize? You can use your Visa card to pay your PNM bill each month. You can also participate in PNM E-bill with a checking or savings account.
  • Simplify paying your PNM bill. No more remembering to mail checks or pay your bill online. You never have to worry about finding a stamp or secure mailbox to mail your payment again! Sign up for PNM E-bill and get more time to spend on things you want to do.

2. What payment methods can I use with PNM E-Bill?

With PNM E-Bill, you can choose from a number of different payment methods:

  • ATM debit or check card
  • Checking or savings account
  • Visa® credit or debit card

3. Is PNM E-Bill a free service or do I have to pay a monthly fee for it?

PNM E-Bill is free. There are no service charges to have your PNM bill automatically paid when you are signed up for PNM E-Bill.

4. What does it mean when you say that PNM E-Bill is recurring?

Recurring means that with PNM E-Bill your payment is automatically paid for you, using the payment method you selected, month after month versus just one time, until you choose to cancel PNM E-Bill.

5. How do I sign up for PNM E-Bill?

Sign up online. You can sign up for PNM E-Bill online whenever it is most convenient for you; 24 hours a day/7 days a week. All you need is your PNM account information and your bank or Visa credit card information. Your PNM account information, including your PNM account number, can be found on a copy of a recent PNM bill.

6. What do I do if I want to change my payment information in PNM E-Bill?

You can change your payment information online, at any time. Change PNM E-Bill now.

7. How do I stop participation in PNM E-Bill?

You can choose to cancel your enrollment online, at any time. Simply follow the Change or Cancel Participation link at the bottom of your last electronic bill. You will need to your utility account information to cancel PNM E-Bill, this can be found on a copy of a recent PNM bill. Cancel PNM E-Bill now.

8. Do I have to pay using the same method every month? For example, can I pay with a Visa credit card one month and by debit card on another?

To keep things simple for you, we recommend keeping one payment method. But you are able to change your payment method preference at any time. Change PNM E-Bill now.

9. Is PNM E-Bill effective immediately after I sign up for it?

It takes approximately 5 - 20 business days, depending on your billing cycle, to receive your 1st PNM E-Bill. Receipt of your 1st PNM bill by e-mail is notification that your PNM bills will now be automatically paid each month. Three (3) business days prior to the due date, the amount due reflected on the E-Bill will be automatically withdrawn using the payment method you selected.

Pay any amount due prior to receiving your first PNM E-Bill email by your normal payment method.

10. Will I still get a paper bill mailed to me each month?

No. You will be mailed one (1) more paper bill, but after that your PNM bills will be e-mailed to you instead of being mailed to you.

11. Will my due date change on my PNM bill?

No. Your due date on your PNM bill will not change because you enrolled in PNM E-Bill. Your billing cycle will remain the same.

12. If I have two accounts under my name and I set up PNM E-Bill, will I receive two electronic bills? Can I arrange to have both accounts show up on one bill?

If you have two or more residential PNM accounts and you wish to receive all bills electronically, you must sign up for PNM E-Bill separately for each account. PNM does not currently offer summary billing for residential accounts. You will continue to receive separate bills for each PNM account you hold.

13. Can I sign up for PNM E-Bill if I have a previously unpaid balance?

If you have an existing balance, you may sign up as long as you have not received a disconnect notice. Unpaid balances will be collected with the current bill after signing up. If you have received a disconnect notice, you need to contact PNM at 1-800-687-7854 for a payment arrangement.

14. When I sign up for PNM E-Bill is my personal information protected?

Yes. PNM is committed to protecting your privacy and personal information. Your personal information is protected by one of the most widely trusted technologies used to secure sensitive information transmitted over the Internet; 128 bit SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption ensures that your information can not be seen, altered or accessed by an unauthorized party.

15. I’m on Budget Billing; can I still sign up for PNM E-Bill?

Yes. You can be enrolled in Budget Billing and PNM E-Bill at the same time. Sign up for PNM E-Bill now.

16. I’m a PNM business customer; can I sign up for PNM E-Bill?

Right now, PNM E-Bill is only available to residential home customers. In the future, PNM E-Bill will be expanded to serve our business customers.

17. Why does PNM offer PNM E-Bill free of charge but also have a online payment program that charges a fee?

PNM strives to deliver value to you. As a result, we like to provide a variety of payment options for customers. The online payment option that has a charge is designed for customers needing to pay quickly one time or at the last minute. PNM E-Bill is for customers who want greater convenience paying their bill.

18. My PNM bill is automatically drafted from my checking or savings account; can I sign up for PNM E-Bill and receive my bills by e-mail instead?

If you currently pay your PNM bill using Automatic Bank Draft, you will need to cancel this program before you sign up online for PNM E-Bill. Contact PNM at (505) 246-5700 or (888) 342-5766 to cancel Automatic Bank Draft.

19. I want my PNM bills to be paid automatically for me each month but I want to still receive a paper bill in the mail. Do you have any suggestions for me?

Yes. You may want to consider the PNM Automatic Bank Draft program.

20. I want to pay my PNM bill online but I want to still receive a paper bill in the mail. Is this possible?

Yes, but not through PNM E-Bill. You can still make a one-time payment online through our payment processor, BillMatrix. A $2.95 transaction fee will apply. Make one-time payment online.

21. I currently have a payment arrangement set up with PNM. Can I still sign up for PNM E-Bill?

No. You would need to fulfill the payment arrangement prior to enrolling online for PNM E-Bill.
