In time for summer heat, PNM to help southern New Mexico save energy and money
Free energy efficiency programs and events offered in June to Alamogordo, Lordsburg and Silver City customers
(Alamogordo, N.M.) - In June, PNM is offering Alamogordo, Lordsburg, and Silver City customers the chance to lower their summer electricity usage and save money on their bills with free energy efficient light bulbs and a free PNM Home Energy Checkup. This opportunity is especially timely given that hot summer weather is fast approaching and customers often will use more energy.
Customers are encouraged to remove incandescent light bulbs from their homes and exchange them for free energy efficient LED bulbs. LED bulbs can help customers save as much as $65 a year on their electric bills and the bulbs last an average of 20 years. Limit four LED bulbs per household.

A PNM Home Energy Checkup is another great way to start saving energy and money. An energy expert will come into the home and perform a detailed analysis of how the home uses energy. Special Offer: From June 1 through June 14, Alamogordo PNM customers can get a PNM Home Energy Checkup for free.
Customers who sign-up for a free PNM Home Energy Checkup will get:
- Up to 20 free LED light bulbs
- Two LED night lights
- Up to two efficient-flow shower heads
- Kitchen and bathroom faucet aerators
- A smart power strip
