PNM to invest $300,000 into electrical facilities serving Corrales
Improving equipment will ensure reliability for Corrales residents
Albuquerque: PNM is investing in Corrales by improving the system currently bringing electricity to area homes and businesses. The improvements, totaling approximately $300,000, will ensure Corrales has reliable electric service during both normal usage and peak times such as cold winter days when furnaces need to kick on and hot summer months when air conditioners are running.
"Corrales residents and businesses are growing in their need for electricity, yet this area is supplied through one main source that is becoming overloaded. PNM is investing into this system to ensure our equipment meets our customers' needs for electricity," said Aubrey Johnson, vice president, PNM New Mexico Operations. "Providing reliable electric service is a priority. We are taking proactive steps to make things better for the community and to communicate with the public as we progress into construction."
Work is anticipated to begin in the spring of 2016 and will end this summer. Customers will not pay any additional charges as funding for this work is part of the normal capital investment process for PNM.
The public is invited to join PNM in an open house to share information about this upcoming investment. PNM representatives will be present to provide facts and answer questions.
