PNM Good Neighbor Fund:
Eligibility Guidelines

Through the Good Neighbor Fund, PNM customers who are experiencing extreme financial hardship and are income eligible can get help to pay part or all of a past-due electric bill.

New requirements effective Feb. 4, 2013

  • Applicant must be facing a financial hardship due to an emergency or unforeseen drop in income that has occurred within the last six months.
  • Qualified applicants can only receive help from a Good Neighbor Fund grant once every two years.
    • Customers can still receive help from the Good Neighbor Fund in 2013, even if they received help in 2012. However, the next time they would be able to receive another grant would be in 2015.
  • Applicant must apply for help from the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), before they apply for help from the PNM Good Neighbor Fund.
