Background

Existing system documentation

In the 2014-2033 Integrated Resource Plan, PNM will document existing system conditions as required by the IRP Rule Section 17.7.3.9. The document linked below is PNM's first draft of the description of existing system conditions that will become a chapter of the 2014-2033 IRP report. PNM will edit and revise this chapter as the IRP process progress.

Assumptions for potential future resource additions

The resource planning modeling requires assumptions of the cost to build and operate and the expected production characteristics of resources that PNM could add to its generation portfolio. The document linked below is a summary of the assumptions that PNM is currently using.

Natural gas, electricity and carbon price scenarios

One of the risk evaluation tools PNM uses in its integrated resource planning process is scenario analysis. PNM contracted with Pace Global to develop a set of three integrated price curves for natural gas, carbon and electricity. The document linked below is the documentation of the three energy market scenarios and the assumptions in the modeling that produced the price curves.
