PNM Fund Offering Grants to Help Nonprofit Organizations Become More Energy Efficient
Albuquerque: Beginning today and continuing through April 23, nonprofit organizations served by PNM can apply online for a Reduce Your Use Grant of up to $5,000 to put their energy-saving ideas into action.
Funds from grants may be used for a variety of projects, including energy-saving building upgrades, energy-efficient equipment and appliances, environmental education that encourages public participation and awareness, and projects that conserve valuable resources for public use and future generations.
Among the nonprofits that won grants in 2011 were Mothers Against Drunk Driving, which used a grant to install window coverings and panels; PB&J Family Services, which replaced 15-year-old computers with new Energy Star® models; and Santa Fe’s Youthworks, which installed insulation and purchased Energy Star-rated appliances.
Webinar and In-Person Training Offered Next Week
Next week, PNM will offer a webinar and in-person training to help potential applicants understand what the grants cover, how to apply, and how a grant can be used with PNM energy efficiency programs to help minimize energy use and maximize the resulting savings.
Applications for PNM Reduce Your Use Grants are due April 23 and can be completed online at PNM.com/reduceyouruse
