PNM's personal commitment to New Mexico includes being a good steward of our environment and achieving superior levels of environmental performance.

Among PNM's efforts:

• reducing air emissions at power plants
• reducing water use at power plants
• managing all gas- and coal-fired power plants under ISO 14001-certified Environmental Management Systems
• operating all electricity and gas delivery services under an EMS that is consistent with the ISO 14001 standard.
• wildlife protection
• development of an environmental sustainability policy

PNM also supports educating our youth about the importance of our environment, including through our sponsorship of the PNM Butterfly Pavilion at the Albuquerque Biopark.

PNM is proud of its role in the creation of the New Mexico Wind Energy Center, which can produce enough power to supply 94,000 average-sized New Mexico homes — without emissions or water use.
